BIO: Lil Bit came from a shelter in Chattanooga, when no one claimed her, this sweet kind girl found her way into foster through AADR. Lil Bit, may have had a hard life before coming to AADR. She at times tends to eat quickly and want to guard her food, this is easily solved by feeding her in a separate area away from any other pets in the house.

Lil Bit still has some very cute puppy behaviors, she loves a good chew toy and can be very energetic and playful.. This girl is full of life, she happily greets anyone at the front door ready to play. Lil Bit gets along great with other dogs, but at times is too energetic for the cats of the household. She is very playful and energetic and would be best suited for a family with children 7 or older. She is also still a bit of a puppy, so she will need plenty of doggy toys and chews to keep her busy. She knows a few commands, such as sit, and wait and like all dachshunds she will work for food. This girl just wants to be loved she is happy to see you after you've disappeared for just a few minutes and shows it by giving plenty of welcome home kisses. Her favorite spot is on the couch and she loves sleeping in the big bed. If you are looking for a beautiful, happy, kind hearted girl to make your life complete, please feel free to e-mail her foster mom.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

More about Lil Bit...GA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
