BIO: Wendy was surrendered by her previous family cause they were having a baby, that’s what we were told. They did not take the best care of Wendy because she lost all her teeth when she had a dental so she will need to fed soft or softened hard food. Wendy is a very quite little girl that gets along with all the dogs here in the foster home and likes to sit in foster dad’s lap while he watches TV. She is not trouble so we don’t know why her family gave her up. She learned the doggie door very quickly and uses it by herself but also likes you to go out with her. We think Wendy would be fine with or without another dog and she’d be fine if you worked. She could be left in or out of a crate cause all she does is waits until you come home. We would like to see a fenced in yard for Wendy. She is a sweetie and won’t last long.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
