BIO:

Patience came into us from a owner that was getting a divorce and she could no longer care for her dogs. We were happy to take Patience because not only is she sweet but she has a great disposition to boot. She is friendly with all the other dogs here and always happy to see her foster mom when she gets home from work. Her name suits her well. She likes to hang out with the other dogs in the foster home but also likes some cuddle time. She would be great with an active family or one that’s more laid back. She learned the doggie door quickly and lets herself in and out. We are not sure how she’d do with cats as we have none. Foster mom has children that know how to enact with dogs so we are saying children over 7 yrs. Fenced yard is a must. Thank you for your interest in a rescue; please e-mail foster mom if you have more questions.

Also love to go for car rides.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
