BEING FOSTERED IN NY STATE.....

Pawlie is a wonderful, sweet old guy who hasn't always had a wonderful life. He came from a backyard breeder in TN. He was terribly neglected and has lost most of his teeth as a result. He is thriving on soft/wet food and should continue with it. He is the most affectionate dog and loves attention. He will happily greet you with an energetic tail wag and lots of doggy kisses! He loves his doggie bed. He doesn't care for 'people' beds or furniture. He will stay for a minute, and then he wants down and will go to his own bed. Please fill out an application and give Paw Paw the forever home that he deserves. He will repay you with everlasting love and gratitude.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
