BEING FOSTERED IN BIRMINGHAM, AL

Waldo, his brother Willie and their mom, Puppers were owner surrenders. After having them barely a day, we've fallen in love with them! Waldo and Willie are being fostered in a home with cats, children of various ages and other dogs. So far, so good and we think that getting them started off like this will make them well rounded dogs.

Waldo is the more advenurous of the two boys. As a matter of fact, he was the one to get the name Waldo because they were constantly saying, "Where's Waldo." Since they are still babies, they will require work on house training, especially when they go to a new home. We've been impressed at how well they've handled all the changes. There's one more change for each of them, though, and that's to their forever home. We think that at this age, the sooner they can get to the right home, the better for them so they can settle in. In fact, getting them home soon will give them time to be settled before holiday activities.

Can Waldo come live with you?

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
