Angel is a petite, cutie-pie, sweet little girl that spent the first four years of her life as a breeder. Thankfully, her owner surrendered her and her working days are over. Angel is learning how to be a spoiled rotten doxie and is getting the hang of being a pet. You can expect her to be skittish for a while and prefers women over men, but patience will prevail. Once she learns she can trust you, she’s your best buddy and shadow, and loves to snuggle on the sofa. Also, she’s discovered that sleeping in the big bed with her foster mom is the best thing EVER! She gets along well with her siblings, both male and female, and never causes a fuss. Angel is doing quiet well with her potty training but sometimes will potty on concrete rather than grass, which is not unusual because of the former breeding environment. BUT, her mom thinks that concrete is better than carpet any day!!! Just be prepared to give Angel lots of praise and TREATS to keep her lady-like manners in tact. Kind, gentle words must always be used with Angel’s sensitive spirit. Walking on a leash was a new concept for Angel, but she picked it up like a pro and has discovered that exploring the neighborhood is quite fun.
Because Angel spent her life as a breeder with no attention to nutrition, she lost most of her teeth when she came to AADR. No problem---her mom just softens her kibbles with a little warm water and she eats just fine---no special food is necessary. Angel is quiet girl in her new home and is well behaved in a crate where her favorite pass time is licking on a Kong filled with peanut butter. Angel is a smart girl and learned her family’s routine very quickly. Once her mom is ready for work, Angel heads for her crate. Whoever adopts this sweet girl will need patience and must have lots of love, kind words, and a knack for snuggling! The reward of watching her blossom will warm your heart for a lifetime!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE!
