FOSTER HOME Stephanie  smburmei@comcast.net
If you’re looking for a happy, high-energy boy that is always up for a game of fetch, Chewy is your guy! Chewy was given to AADR after he was passed from home to home, but nobody wanted to spend time with this sweet boy. WHY we do not know! He is delightful to have around, has an out-going personality, enjoys his foster dachshunds, and has wonderful house manners! He has had NO accidents at his foster mom’s home and hasn’t even marked a plant on the porch. Chewy sleeps quietly in his crate at night and while his foster mom is away during the day.
Chewy enjoys having a yard to play in and will chase a toy as long as you’ll throw it to him, but he also walks well on a leash. He would do well if you would like to take him to obedience classes---he is eager to please and quite a smart little boy that would thrive with the challenge of learning to please his person. Chewy has a great personality and is eager for a forever home where he’ll never be moved again.  He may bark a little when meeting new people, but will quickly come and greet you as soon as he knows you’re friendly! He’ll be your new best friend in a heartbeat!  If you’ve got an active lifestyle and want a “wing man” or a family with kids that needs a dog to play fetch with them---Chewy is up for the challenge! You won’t find a better companion anywhere!
If you have any questions or want more pictures, email her foster mom, Stephanie: smburmei@comcast.net   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If transporting by volunteers through our organization or a commercial transporter, a $35 fee for the Health Certificate must be added to the adoption fee.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about CHEWY (2)...NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
