BIO:
AnnaJo came from a shelter in AR where she was we believe a breeder dog because of her lack of socialization. She will need someone to have patience with her while she learns to be a “pet”, instead of a breeding machine. She has no fear issues except for being scared of new situations she is a very sweet little girl and little by little with the help of the other fosters is learning to be a dog and pet. She would do better with another dog to continue to help her to adjust to being a pet. She gets along with both male and female and we do believe she would benefit from having a fenced in yard so she can run and plan in the yard. She is not leash trained. She is house-trained to a doggie door so if you do not have one of those she would need to learn to go out on a schedule until she was completely housebroken but she is very smart and eager to please. Please give this little lady a happy home so she can put the past behind her and continue on the road to being a happy healthy dachshund.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about ANNA-JO...ME
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
