She is looking for a family that will love her as much as she loves them. She is very affectionate and loves to just sit on your lap. She does not bark much and is a little on the shy side. She spent the first 4-5 years of her life as a breeder dog. She was very scared of any type of human interaction, but once she develops her trust around you, you have a true companion! She lost most of her teeth due to poor conditions before being rescued. She is smart and is doing very well on potty training. Angie had a rough start to her life and would love to be treated like a princess by her new family. It should not be tough treating her as a princess because she is so adorable and loveable! Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE. If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
