Willie is a precious boy  and he has adjusted to his foster home.  Willie is doing great with my three other dachshunds and he is good with the cats.  Willie so precious when he finds his new “FUREVER FAMILY” they will wonder why it took so long to find him.  This great boy was given up by this family because they didn’t have time to give him all the attention that he deserves which is not much because he is so laid back.  Willie was raised with two other dachshunds who have since past from old age.  Willie is house trained, loves the doggie door, will cuddle on the couch with you, love being outside and will chase a ball as long as you can throw it to him. When it’s time for bed Willie will snuggle under the covers on his bed next to yours or he loves being in the big bed with his foster mom.

 Please if you are looking to add a little love bug to your family Willie would be your guy.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. 
 
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
