BIO:  Theo and Peanut - The dynamic duo!  Two sweet little guys living large!  Theo is a little more laid back and Peanut is the mischievous little brother.  Peanut can sometimes be a little shy but big brother Theo is always there to take care of him.  Watching them, you can see the love they have for each other.  Theo and Peanut have the energy and exuberance of young pups and love a good tussle, but are both very well behaved.  They love their peeps, playing with their foster brothers and sisters, sleeping in the big bed, belly rubs, chasing squirrels and mangoes.   Both are learning to walk on a leash and like riding in the car.  They LOVE to be outside so a fenced yard is a must. They have not been kid tested but would probably be OK in a home with older children. If you are looking for two great little pups, Theo and Peanut are your guys. Because they would be lost without one another, they can only be adopted together.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.  
 
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
