BIO: This little girl has just been rescued from a Puppy Mill. She is as cute as can be!!! Just Beautiful! I’ve only had her a few days so I’m just beginning to learn about her. She has done very well meeting and being around her new playmates, and seems to enjoy having people around talking to her and giving her attention. Every time I am near her, she starts wagging her tail and acting so excited, but then shies away from being touched. She wants so badly to have a relationship but she’s just too afraid. She’s a dog that will require grooming, and I was very happy that she did well with her bath, brushing and even nail trimming. I’ll add more info on her as I get to know her better.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
