BEING FOSTERED IN MIDDLE TN...
AS YOU CAN SEE MERLIN IS ALMOST COMPLETELY HEALED AND WANTS TO GO TO HIS NEW FOREVER HOME, WHEREEVER THAT MAY BE.

MERLIN, came to us from another rescue in KY. He was at a shelter, got adopted out and returned by the family with kids that said he had flea allergies. The shelter took him to the vets and DID confirm that he had had something poured on his back and was burned all the way down his back. He looks a lot better now than he did when he came to us and the other rescue said he looked a LOT better than when they brought him to me. Anyway he is now looking for his forever home where he'll NEVER be put through this kind of pain again. How cruel people can be!! He doesn't seem to be affected by it as he is just as friendly as can be. Uses the doggie door and gets along and plays with all the other dogs here in foster care. If you are interested in adopting MERLIN please do fill out an application.

More about MERLIN...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
