  Like Adventure! Fishing! Hiking! Boating! this is the Pup for you! Kyler is an active puppy who lives for the day! Kyler has a really big heart and will give you kisses all day long. Kyler loves the water all kinds, whether its rain an ocean or pool he will be there to swim in it and some times drink it. Although he will need a life vest so his tiny little feet dont have to work that hard to keep him up. My husband and I are surround by wood on Fort Stewart, Kyler loves to walk through them. If he gets tired he only ways 6 pounds if you want to give him a break from walking.
   Right now Kyler is house broken, if he wants to go out side he will start sniffing and a light bark, but if your not home or your sleeping, he will use his puppy pads only. He likes to follow me around the house and help with cleaning. He knows to stay out of the kitchen so he will sit in the hallway and watch me. He does great in the car. If he is in a crate he will cry a little since he cant see us. But he does great just sleeping on my lap.
     Kyler gets along very well with dogs, He likes to try to get my dog to chase him around the house. Cats, Kyler likes to follow my cat around. He actually bugs her alot he follows her to her litter box to see what she is doing. When he is out side on a leash he will bark at other dogs. I say his name and walk in front of him and most of the time he stops. He loves to play in my garden and chase the butterflies. I recommend a fenced yard or a lead. I also recommend an easy going couple, sometimes little kids play to rough with him.
    When its time to relax Kyler is right there with you sleeping. He can have a relaxed day or a day full of fun. This little boy is awaiting his new buddy or buddies in life.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
