BIO:
MEET Carly

Carly came to us from a posting on craigslist. All we know is that the home was willing to give up this sweet baby girl in trade for a dog house. We couldn’t risk her getting into the wrong hands and living a life of breeding so we contacted the home & made the trade.
Carly is the SWEETEST puppy I have had the privilege of fostering, EVER. She is very playful, but she LOVES LOVES LOVES her cuddle time on the couch. She will do whatever she can to ensure you are going to let her lay on the couch with you and cuddle. Carly gets along great with any and everything (dogs – big or small, cats, kids, you name it – she loves it). She is picking up potty training at a very good rate. We have a doggie door here so she is accustom to coming & going as she pleases. If you do not have a doggie door then she is going to need work on learning how to tell you she needs to go out. Carly loves to play hard with her foster sister and would love a fur brother or sister at her new home (it will help wear down some of her puppy energy). At this time she does not know how to walk on a leash (we have a fenced in yard) but she is a fast learner & should pick it up in no time. She is in her chewing stages of puppyhood so her new home needs to have LOTS of the proper toys for her and redirect her if she starts to chew on something undesirable.
Carly will be available for adoption after 02/09/11. This is when she is due for her 2nd round of puppy shots. Her new home will have to understand that she will be due for a 3rd round of shots in March & that will be her new home’s responsibility (we will follow up to make sure this is completed, puppy shots are VERY important in assuring your puppy is in the best health possible).
If you feel you can give Carly the home she so deserves please fill out an adoption application.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
