BIO:

2 year old Cecil appears to be a dachshund / beagle mix.  Because Cecil and brother Beany are a bonded pair they were not adopted and slated for euthanasia.   A rescuer pulled the pair from the shelter and promised to find them a home where they could stay together.    Cecil is a bit more serious than Beany; he is very sweet and loves nothing more than curling up on the couch or bed and chewing on his bone, this boy loves his bones!  He is kennel trained and currently stays in an X-pen with his brother Beany when foster mom is at work or out running errands.

Beany and Cecil have a special bond with each other, when not together they have separation anxiety and become very uncomfortable.  They are not actually litter mates, but it is obvious that they have been together since Beany was a young puppy.   We are looking for a special family that will adopt both these wonderful and sweet young boys so they can stay together.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required.

More about CECIL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
