BIO:

Coco came to us along with another dachshund that threatened to have both dogs put down because they got into her rabbit pen and killed some of the rabbits. Coco is a very sweet sweet girl. Loves her foster mom and dad and gets along with all the dachshunds in the house. We could say no to cats but we think kids at least 10+ would be fine. She does apprear to be house broken at least to a dog door and love to sleep in your lap on on the couch.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
