BIO: Scooter was brought into the shelter by his owner saying she was tired of him and didn’t want him anymore.  Poor Scooter was confused as to why his owner left him he didn’t understand. AADR rescued him and he has blossomed! I am unsure why they would part with him as he is such a lover!  Scooter really enjoys being in your lap and cuddling it is by far his favorite thing to do!  He is still young so his new home will have to reinforce his potty training he is doing very well being in a large crate when his foster mommy is gone and is doing very well in the house.  He is good on leash needs a little more practice but gets the general idea.  Scooter does shy away from loud noises and will need some time to adjust to his new home.  He has a lot of love to give will you be the home he so desperately wants?

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
