BIO:   When you wrap your arms around this little guy you just won't want to put him down. Aldo is very friendly and affectionate. Loves to snuggle and has soo many kisses. He is working on being house trained. He is showing signals to go out and having very few accidents. Aldo is very quiet, very rarely barks and would make a great apartment, condo, duplex companion dog. He is okay in his crate when we go out but he prefers to follow you around. He is getting along good on the leash. Likes to ride in the car. Aldo gets along fine with the other dogs in my house. He is not a food hound, eats when it is offered but does not beg.  Mostly he wants to be held and snuggle, he tucks his nose under your armpit and curls up on your chest.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
