BIO:

Hi, my name is Rhett. I’m a dachshund mix and I’m a young and happy dog. I have an underbite, I’m told that it makes me more handsome. My foster mom says that I’m sweet. I am learning lots of things and love to please and be praised. I stand up on my hind legs when my foster mom gets the treats out, and sometimes I do it to give her a hint that she should get the treats out.  I love all people and dogs. I like playing with my foster mates. I like to go for short and long walks on the leash and I like to sleep in the big bed. I would really like to find a nice family or person to belong with.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

Fee r the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Rhett....MS

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
