Bio:
Ruff!!! My name is Riley dev Mund. (German for Riley the Kisser).
I'm a 12 lb black & grey dapple dachshund...A REAL LONG, LEAN, LOVIN' MACHINE! I am also unique in that I have a 'nubbin' for a tail. I need a forever home where I can cuddle with you & help you with stuff you do. I'm completely housebroken & I love cats! I'd love another puppy to pal around with too. I am great with children.
I have been neutered and I am not due for my shots until August of 2011. I am also microchipped with a 24PetWatch microchip.
My foster mom is a registered dog trainer and was voted the number 2 trainer in the state in 2008 - 2009. She has been working with me and I am a better doggie for it. I come when I am called. I sit, dance, hop, and she is teaching me to wait my turn. I am catching on quickly. My foster mommy also say I have the biggest ears and the velvetiest fur on earth.
I love to play fetch outside or down the hall. I am always up for wrestling with either my foster mommy or my foster brother. My favorite toy is the Wubba. I like to sleep late and under the covers. I also love to nap in a box of newspapers. I love being brushed and drinking water out of the faucet.
Can't you picture me as a member of your family. --
More about Riley...IL
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
