BIO

Mercury is a very small and cute little boy. He is very hyper just like any puppy. He is a little scared of people at first and gets nervous when people try to pick him up. (He is so small and cute everyone wants to touch him!) He will cuddle with you all day..on his own terms! He likes to come to you, not the other way around! He is good with kids, but they scare him when they run after him. He does not get along with other male dogs so needs to go to a home with a female dachshund or female dog. He is a very sweet and happy dog.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

Fee r the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Freddie...MA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
