BIO:

Barney is the sweetest old man you will ever meet. Barney’s family was moving and for some reason could not take Barney with them. Barney is totally housetrained, loves to go for car rides – even though the movement of the car kind of scares him, and is totally loyal. He loves to sit in your lap or just at your feet. Barney is overweight so he would need a home that will continue is special “green bean” diet and lots of walks. When it is bedtime Barney has his own bed on the floor next to me where he sleeps there all night with his blankie. He does like to be on your bed when he is invited up. Barney is the most easy going guy and deserves someone to fill the remainder of his life with loads of hugs, kisses, and love. Please call or email me if you have any further questions on Barney.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
