BIO:
Cocoa is whatever you want her to be she's great by herself or she's great with a friend. She loves walks, down time or playing ball. She's an all round great gal. Won't you give her the home she so richly deserves?
Cocoa was an owner surrender for no apparent reason. Cocoa is a very sweet girl, not to confident so we feel taking her to the dog park and letting her meet other dogs will help her a lot to get her confidence up. She is completely house broken and is really enjoying the fenced in yard. She seems to perfer the man of the house just a bit more than the foster mom but is fine with both. We think she needs some structure as far as to know what she can and can't do. She listens well and takes well to correction.
She walks great on a leash but we'd really like to see her go to a home with another younger well adjusted dog to learn and play with and also a fenced in yard where she can enjoy being outside playing.
You couldn't find a sweeter girl and she's a great chiweenie. She needs to lose just about a pound and she'll be at her ideal weight of 17 lbs. Please give her a lasting forever home.
More about Cocoa...VA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
