BIO:

Bennett will be a great only dog as well as a member of the pack.  She pays a lot of attention to what the other dogs are doing and then follows!  Bennett really is not big on going down stairs but she has no problems coming up them.  She sleeps in the big bed but doesn't have to have cover....only close to her person.  She walks well on a leash and harness.  She grew up with an Xpen and a crate to sleep in but she does fine not in a crate during the day. She has a crate now but the door stays open and she will lay in it for a bone.  She does enjoy chewing on bones but she is not at all a chewer on house items.

She goes outside will all of the doxies and plays great with everyone.  She loves to pick on my standard that is 3x her size! Bennett is a love bug and begs to sit in your lap anytime you are sitting down.  She is not a jumper and will come with her set of stairs.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
