BIO:

Little miss Rosie is an absolute sweetheart, anyone would certainly agree. She came to us with another dog, Greta, from a home that did not believe in veterinarian care. Her first trip was to the vet where she was given flea and tick treatment because she was infested and put on antibiotics immediately after being diagnosed with three tick born diseases. She is well on her way to recovery but further blood testing is required to make sure that the diseases haven’t compromised her immune system. Her prognosis however looks great! Rosie is the epitome of happiness. This girl just can’t want to play and snuggle and kiss any person willing to show her a crumb of attention. Rosie is absolutely gorgeous and since she has healed from the infestation her fur has gotten glossy and soft. She is a sweet and loving girl with a full life of happiness ahead. She does seem to have a dominant personality so if you are looking for a companion for your current pet, this would be something to consider before adopting her.

Rosie will soon be spayed and given a clean bill of health within the next couple of weeks so if you are interested in her, please fill out an application now. Rosie likes to socialize with other dogs, enjoys walks, and loves to play at the dog park. Please consider giving Rosie her happily ever after…

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
