If you are looking for a red dapple, here she is… Greta is absolutely beautiful with her light red speckled coat. She has a unique face, with tinges of cream around the edges and jaw line. She is not only gorgeous but extremely lovable. Greta is a calm and laid back girl most of the time but she does love a little action and attention. She will be the first to greet you when you walk in the door but isn’t the kind of dachshund that needs to follow in your footsteps. She has an independent side to her as well and is completely house trained. Greta would make a great companion for just about any personality type. She enjoys going for walks, playing at the dog park and lounging around the house. She does have a more dominant personality so if you are looking for a companion for a current pet Greta would not be recommended.

Greta came from a home that did not believe in veterinarian care or flea and tick prevention and tested positive for Lyme disease. She has since been treated and cured and now is up to date on all vaccines and has been given a clean bill of healthy. She is a wonderful girl with a shy personality until you get to know her and then she warms up very quickly. Greta would like to find her forever home and live out her long and happy life with a family that cares and loves her. Please give Greta a wonderful home and fill out an adoption application today!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
