I AM BEING FOSTERED IN Rochester, NY
Hi, KRAMER here. I'm very confused as to what exactly happened but I heard them say my daddy got sick and passed; not quite sure what that means but he's not around anymore and I miss him so very, very much. You see he and I were a team!! He was my daddy, buddy, friend and pal all rolled into one. I orginally belonged to his son but they felt it best that I go live with daddy so I did and I was really, really happy there.
But enough of that. I'm now looking for a new home and I would be so, so, so happy if I could find me another DADDY. I'm ok with older kids but I DO NOT like you messing with my food or my crate when I'm in it. You see they teased me before and now I've got it ingrained in me to protect those two things and that's the way it's gonna be. If you put me in my crate and let me come out on my own or if you open the door and let me come to you then we are fine. As for my food just leave me alone to eat it and we are good to go. I get along with big and small dogs but no "cats" and no "young kids" - over 10-12 would be fine. I am UTD on all my shots, heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline and have had a dental. If you are reading this and are retired or even if you are not and you want a friend/pal/buddy, PLEASE put in an application on me cause I'm looking for one too. You don't have to be a man cause I like my foster mom too.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
