BIO:

Chloe is the most fun little Dachshund I have ever been around. She is full of personality and goes all day long. If she is not playing tug o’ war or wrestling with her foster brothers, then she has a beef bone or rope toy and is working hard on it while sitting in the middle of her bed. Chloe is also remarkably intelligent. No other dog has even noticed the aquarium but each day she waits for the light to come on so she can put her paws on the table and follow the movement of the fish with her nose. Chloe is very sweet and a total cuddle bug. She was a breeder dog the first 3 years of her life and is really enjoying all the comforts of being inside. She is a runner, but I have put a bell on her collar and because of that she can’t sneak up on you while you are trying to go out of the door. She is friendly with strangers and with other dogs. I do not know how she would be around cats. She kennels quietly and that is the safest option for her when you are not home since she is very playful and could get herself into trouble easily. Chloe will definitely need a high energy home with a companion; she needs a family that can keep up with her youthful energy and playful personality. She gets along great with her foster brother Little Man (who is also on this website) and they can keep each other busy all day!

More about Chloe...MD

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
