BIO:

Hello my name is Bells. I was picked up by these nice people from a really scary high kill shelter.  I was really happy when they brought me home.  I love to give kisses, play and snuggle.  When I play I like to bite, but not hard at all. I get along well with my doggie roommates.  Although, one of them is teaching me how to chase cat’s. But my foster mom has told me not too. I’m getting better.  I am learning how to go potty outside.  My previous owners never taught me.  Oh, I love kids.  My foster mom has 3, 4 and 5 year old and I love to give them kisses and play with them.  Now let’s talk about the leash.  I’m okay with it.  But I want to go go go so I’m sorry if I pull a lot.  I am still learning how to walk on the leash properly.  My foster mom brought me into the vet and it turned out that I had bladder stones. It was really painful.  But now I am healing and getting better. Do you have a spot in your home for me?

More about BELLS...UT

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
