BEING FOSTERED IN NASHVILLE, TN

Kritina came from a breeder in Louisiana with her four puppies. She is a mini and will be a beautiful dark chocolate once her coat gets in better condition. Krissie, as we call her, is a big personality in a little package. She loves people and thinks she should be the center of attention of any human close by.
Her little tail wags and wags any time you look at her. She always manages to get the prime spot right next to you when you're on the couch or in bed. She gets along well with other dachshunds and ignores cats, even playful kittens.
She has been a good mama to her four rambunctious boys but she's ready for a life as a lady of leisure. She has done well as far as house training, using papers in the puppy area and just going outside on her own so a home with a doggie door or a fenced yard would suit her. She does have a big bark so she might not be a good apartment/townhouse pet.
She is UTD on all shots and has now been spayed. She is looking for a best friend and she will be devoted to you.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
