BEING FOSTERED IN MIDDLE TN

JACOBI came to us from a small shelter in Jonesboro, AR and what a find he was!! This boy is sweet, sweet, sweet!! He gets along with other dogs and is learning to share the attention from a human. He will need to continue his work on that. It does seem like he's just starved for attention. When you lay down with him he'll come over to you and kiss you all over and just rub all over you like he's telling the world you are his. He would be great with kids due to the fact he loves attention. He would be good with another female or by himself, we do not know about cats. He does appear to be housebroken at least to the doggie door but is very eager to please so with patience and treats he'll be an easy one to finish housebreaking if hevneeds it. He is UTD on all shots, neutered, heartworm negative and on Frontline and Interceptor. Please don't leave JACOBI homeless for long - give him the kind of home he LONGS for!!

More about JACOBI...TN

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
