HEIDI is a doll baby her eyes say it all she is sad now her Mom and Dad had to give her up due to health issues and getting older. Heidi and several of her brothers and sisters are looking for a loving home. maybe YOU can adopt HEIDI with one of her brothers or sisters for company. HEIDI is housebroken, a little scared right now not sure why she had to leave home. She is great at going outside to potty and she has no trouble with cats and other dogs, she has to get some weight off she loves to eat and her foster mom said they would diet together so would you please give me a good home and maybe one of my other family members thanks... Miss Heidi
HEIDI is already spayed when we got her but she is not UTD on all of her shots, heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline. She had a flea allergy and has some hair missing due to that but now that we have all those nasty fleas gone her hair will grow back. She will have a dental and we chipped before she goes to her new home. Don't wait long this ladies eyes are too beautiful to be left homeless for long!! We think she'd do better with someone that will walk her to get this extra weight off her and get her down to her ideal weight which should be about 12 lbs.
WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
