ROCKY3 came to us from LA from a very small breeder that kept her dogs as pets in her home and took great care of them until she fell on hard times. She and her husbands health is failing and she was unable to care for ROCKY3 and several others that you'll see on here now and in the near future. ROCKY3 is one funny little guy, he LOVES everybody and has personnality like you wouldn't belive. He is also double jointed in his front legs so it looks like he's bow-legged but he's not. He has had a dental, UTD on all shots and is heartworm negative. ROCKY3 is ready to find his new forever home and will go willingly with anyone that likes him. He is used to a doggie door but walks on a leash and will just about go anywhere and we think would be easy to transition into any home. Please give this boy his last forever home and make the orginal owner happy that she did the right thing brokenhearted by giving up the care of her babies so they could all find loving homes. WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
