MAX4 came from a shelter in Clarksville, TN and we just can't imagine why anyone would give up this sweet dog. He loves to give kisses. Is better with the woman of the house rather than the man. Kids over 10 would be fine. Cats we don't know about. He is housebroken and loves to play and gets along with the other dogs here at the foster home. He is UTD on all shots and heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline. He walks great on a leash and will make someone a wonderful family member. Please give MAX4 the home that he deserves.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
