BIO:

MATILDA (TILLY) came in from South East TN from a family that had health issues and felt it was best to give her up and find a home for her where she could be properly cared for. Tilly is just a little shy at first but warms up quickly and wants to be your friend. She has caught on to the doggie door quickly and loves running in and out. She is housebroken and will ask to go out but loves the freedom of the doggie door. For this reason we suggest a fenced in yard where she can continue to enjoy that freedom. We do not know if she is leash trained. Tilly does not like cats and kids over 4 would be great. She does prefer women over men so only women should apply or the men have to realize that you’ll never be her favorite person.

Tilly is a sweet sweet girl that loves to sleep in the big bed and be right with you where ever you go, doesn’t care for a crate but we’ll work on that. If interested please fill out an online application because once word gets out how sweet this girl is she won’t be with us long.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about MATILDA(TILLY)...NY

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
