BIO:

Theo is a super loving dog who wants to be close to his human companions at all times. He is rather calm for his age and enjoys playtime, but equally enjoys naptime. Theo's favorite toy is a stuffed dinosaur, however he also enjoys chewing rawhide bones while his people work at their desk and going on long walks after dinner. Theo enjoys playing with the other dogs in the house, however does not like the cat. If you are looking for a dog that will easily fit into your lifestyle, and you do not have any cats, please consider Theo.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
