Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please attach 2 – 3 pictures, preferably
one face and one full body.
BIO:
Ashley was left with
4 other Dachshunds in a drop box at a TN shelter. This sweet girl will be your
little shadow. She loves to follow you all over the house and even go for car
rides. Ashley is a BIG cuddlier and loves to burrow under the blankets. She
loves sleeping in the big bed with her people and does best when she has a real
structured life so she know what you expect of her. She is ok with cats, but
can get a little too focused on them at times if you are not watching her. If
you have a kitty that will take up for itself then you will have no issues, but
if you have a kitty that is submissive I would not recommend Ashley for you.
She needs to be in a
home that has a least another social dog for companionship and someone who is
home most of the time….she would do great with a retired couple that has
another dog. Someone Doxie savvy would be a plus also. She is being fostered in
a multi dog home at this time with someone home full time and is kept on a good
schedule…ie: feedings, walks, bedtime and such at the same time every day… She
has some anxiety issues that can be managed very well with this life style. A
fenced yard would be best …she likes to dart past you at the door. We have this
under control also.. but I’m sure in a new home she might want to try her old
tricks again till she knows the rules ….
She also has a deformed back leg that she hold up when she walks that makes her
look like a 3 legged dog....I think it is the cutest thing in the world....but
because of this she can't do steps and would have to be carried up them if it’s
more then 2 or 3….also because of this short walks are best for her. But in no
other way does this affect her and she is a normal dog.She is potty trained as long as she is taken out on a regular
schedule. She will have an accident if you do not take her out when she needs
to go. One issue Ashley
doesn’t have is how much she can love....she is the biggest mush and just wants
to be part of the family. The Foster home would like to adopt
within driving distance so you can meet her first....and we can help her and
her new family transition. She may take
some time and patients but will be well worth it and become a very loyal,
loving family member.If you’re that
person really looking to give a Dachshunds who has just not had the best start
in life, have a happy ever after please consider Ashley.

would be a perfect fit for you please fill out an adoption application &

More about ASHLEY...PA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
