Description of the dog:

Little Rosie had a rough start until AADR stepped in to help momma and baby. Rosie we guess was born in the shelter. We rescued her when she was only a couple weeks old. She is currently still nursing at 4 weeks old and will do so for a bit longer.
To adopt Rosie, the new pet parent needs to understand the committment of bringing a new puppy into the household. Puppies cannot hold their bladder all night and need to eat frequently.
Please be prepared to come to pick up Rosie as she will not go on a transport unless she is 15 weeks old. The foster home will meet an hour in any direction from Indianapolis.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport (if older than 15 weeks).

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Rosie...MD

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
