Description of the dog:

A sweeter dog can not be found. Cheyenne is a little submissive currently but is beginning to come out of her shell. She gets along with all her foster brothers and sisters. She will be available after her baby is weaned and she is spayed (approx the end of January).
Cheyenne will run around the backyard with her tail high and wagging the whole time. Being a southern gal, she isn't excited about the cold but she puts up with it and does her business.
Please consider Cheyenne, you won't regret it.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. More about Cheyenne...IN

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
