BERT2 came from a small shelter in TN where he was left in the drop box(overnight box) with 4 other dachshunds. We think a breeder was dumping her stock. BERT2 is very very sweet and submissive and would do great with kids, cats and other dogs. We are working on his house-training but that will be a work in progress. With treats and positive action he is eager to please so should not be hard to house break. He loves to be held and cuddled but also likes to play with the other younger dachshunds here. If you are looking for a calm, laid back dachshunds that just wants to be loved and to please you then BERT2 is the one for you. Please apply today!

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about BERT2...MA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
