DELILAH was an owner surrender after the husband died. DELILAH is one of the sweetest dachshunds that's come thru this foster home in a long time. She was leary of us for about 5 mins after that she has acted like she's been here forever. Was housed with another dachshund and a little fearful of all the fosters in this home but is quickly adjusting. She is house broken and is quickly catching on to the crate training. We don't think she should be around small children because she never has been around them. Probably 10+ would be fine. She loves to sit on the back of your recliner while you watch your favorite shows on TV. She will be getting a bath and the few mats trimmed out of her coat and will be getting a dental and then after the 28th she'll be ready for her new home. Please please give this girl her last forever home she really is too sweet to stay in foster care for long. Please contact her foster mom if you have any questions and don't wait long hair young females don't last long on the website!!!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about DELILAH...MA

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
