Vixon is a very delicate little lady from a litter of puppies that was dumped (without mom) at an animal shelter in central Alabama along with her 7 brothers and sisters. They're all a small-breed mix (dachshund/chihuahua, we're guessing?) with some little doxie ears to make them too cute for words! Even though Vixon is one of the smallest puppies, she hangs in quite well with her siblings when playing and eating. She's quite the snuggle bug and loves to be held and she's got dark markings on her face-- such a cutie! She has been microchipped, dewormed, and checked by our vet. Vixon can only be adopted by new parents who are willing to sign a spay/neuter agreement and pay a $50 deposit, which will be returned with proof of spay/neuter. We will require the contact information of the vet you intend to use so we can make sure Vixon and all the pups are spayed/neutered when they are old enough. Vixon will be available for adoption at 8 weeks. If you'd like to add Vixon to your family, fill out an adoption application!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about VIXON...TN
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
