FOSTER HOME DeeAnn  DeesDawgs@aol.com

Harley is a beautiful black/tan dachshund. He has a little gray on his chin.  Harley had a horrible life before AADR.  He has always lived in a nasty trailer park where his owner barely took time for him ... leaving him a week at a time to fend for himself.  When Harley came to me he had not been neutered, had a huge hernia and was heartworm positive.  Harley has endured the heartworm treatment and his last issue is a dental which will be completed prior to adoption.  He is now looking for a home!

Harley would really love a house that had a big back yard that he could enjoy the sunshine.  He would also love to have an owner that would allow him to sleep in the big bed and give him lots of loving.  Harley always wants to be with his people and would prefer to be in your lap and be the center of your attention.  He has lacked so much of that in his life, he wants to make up for it!!

Harley does have some bad habits that he learned while he was on the streets.  He digs in the trash and he is a runner. If he has a chance to run, he will so you will need to have him on leash before you open if it is not a fenced area!

Please allow Harley to join your family!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
