Maverick is on the nervous side so he will have to go a quieter home. He will bark at strangers coming into the home, but he is getting better. His adopter will have to understand that and give him time. He does want to protect his family. At his foster mom’s home, he sleeps in a kennel at night. He doesn’t like going into it but will after some coaxing. He wants to bond with the female of the family, which is why we feel he needs to go to a female-only home and/or a patient man in the family. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.
