FOSTER HOME (NAME, CITY & STATE, ZIP, EMAIL) Stephanie in N. Alabama smburmei@comcast.net

Corey and Max are the sweetest and most loving dachshunds you'll ever find and are stunningly beautiful, too! They have laid-back, gentle temperaments, which is typical of long-haired and standard dachshunds. They are delightful to be around, well mannered and easy to love. Max and Corey's owners passed away and were turned in to rescue by the neighbor. Corey and Max were litter mates and have always been together and love each other very much, so we'd like them to be adopted together. They never get angry with each other (or their foster siblings) over anything—not food, treats, or toys. They are on a healthy diet and have both lost weight and look fabulous. Corey has a few more pounds to lose and Max is allergic to fleas and must stay on flea prevention.

Both Max and Corey are happy, energetic, playful and friendly with strangers and young children, and love to be near you to soak up any and all attention you're willing to give them. Going for walks is absolutely their most favorite thing in the world and they make great walking partners. They enjoy being brushed, having belly rubs, and just hanging out on the sofa—as long as you're near! A large crate, laundry room, or confined area is fine for them at night or when you must be away from home. Of course, they'd love to sleep in the same room or in the bed with their people! Corey and Max enjoy being outside on a sunny day and Corey loves to run just from sheer joy---she's quite the ham! They are reliably house trained and actually don't mind going out in rainy or cold weather—who knew dachshunds would do this! Their foster mom can think of no really bad habits that need behavior modification---how great is that. Well, they are afraid of the vacuum cleaner and try and hide---so maybe a little work with the vacuum is warranted. You will NOT regret giving Corey and Max a second chance at having their own forever home. They have lots of life and love left to give and will fill your heart with joy for years to come. Just email their foster mom if you have questions or would like additional pictures.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
