BIO:Hi my name is Randy, and I am looking for my forever family! My last family dropped me off at the shelter because they said that I whined when I was left alone.Well, my foster family cannot believe that because I am such a good boy in my crate at night and when they are gone.It might help that my foster brother is crated next to me.I love playing with him and all of the other dogs I have met.In fact I love everyone I meet and give them lots of kisses.Kids make me a bit nervous.I'm just not sure about them yet.I am trying so hard with my potty training. It's sometimes hard because I hate to be outside and cold, but I try my best because I just want to please my foster family. My ideal day would be playing with my toys, snacking on a kong, then snuggling up to you under a blanket. How does that sound? All I want is a family to love.Could that family be you?

More about Randy...NH
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
