BIO:

Meet Scarlett with the beautiful long black hair. She is just as beautiful as her “Gone with the Wind” namesake. She is a delicate mini with a loving spirit. Scarlett loves human interaction and is never far away. She doesn’t take up much space and she is happy to snuggle atop her foster brother if it means she can get closer to foster mom.

Scarlett loves the outdoors and is usually first out the door. She doesn’t mind the rain or chill. She enjoys chasing her foster brother around the yard. As any puppy, she plays with exuberance. It seems she’s either playing hard, or sleeping hard.  Scarlett's sister, Juliette, is also available for adoption. Please consider adopting them together so that they can keep eachother company and stay together!

Scarlett will not last long, if you are interested in giving this loving pup a home, get your application in right away.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Scarlett...NC

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
