BIO: If you are looking for the perfect dog, you are missing out by not adopting Frannie! She's friendly, happy, and housebroken... what more would you want in a dachshund? Yes, you must help her take the weight off, but she's willing if you are. How about it?
We rescued Frannie off Craigslist where she was listed as “FREE”! Does that scare you? It scared us, so we immediately went up to Nashville to get her! Come to find out, they had gotten her off Craigslist. Well, no more of that. Now we aim to find her the best home we can. Is that you?
This sweet girl is an easy keeper; gets along with all dogs, is not a barker, is low maintenance but needs to be walked to lose weight. She is such a good girl and deserves the best for the rest of her life!
Our must-haves for beautiful Frannie include:
- A fenced yard
- Someone who can be home some or another dog to keep her company
- Someone who likes to walk to help her in her weight loss program
- No apartments, high rises, or condos
If you fit the bill and want more info about this lady, please fill out the online adoption application. After we talk to your vet, if you have one, we’ll then call you and talk to you all about Frannie. Oh, we changed her name, too, because she deserved a new name for a new, better life.
============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
