Faith was turned in by her owner when she was no longer useful as a breeder. We are thankful that Faith can join a forever home and become a spoiled lap dog for the remainder of her life. She's got an outgoing personality and doesn't meet a stranger. Faith has a happy disposition and is quite the clown. She often picks a favorite toy of the day and carries it around with her--she had a favorite rubber chicken until she "killed" it!
When she first came to rescue, she needed to lose a few pounds to regain her girlish figure, but she's almost at an ideal weight now. Faith is now reliably housetrained and is a very smart girl. She knows where her "spot" is in the house to go to eat HER food, no one else's and jumps in her crate with her foster brother when her mom must be away. FAITH has a great energy that is "just right and gets along well with her foster siblings, male and female. Sorry, but Faith won't work with cats, but kids who are respectful of a small dog will be just fine with her. She would do well with another small brother or sister, or would be quite content to be an only child. She walks well on a leash and enjoys hanging out on the porch in the fenced yard on a sunny day. Her foster parents think Faith is a delight to have around the house--she's got just the right amount of playfulness coupled with a very sweet and loving spirit. If you've got a hole in your heart that needs a furry best friend, she's your girl! You'll be blessed for many years to come! If you'd like more information or pictures, just email her foster mom.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about FAITH 3
Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
